Wondershop believes in the life-changing potential of games. That’s why they’re developing a new kind of community game that brings the magic found in the digital realm into the real world. The proposed brand identity system helps visualise this interaction between digital and physical realities.

"As a unique hybrid of a foundation and a startup, Me-säätiö ( We Foundation ) is in the business of making impact. Since 2015, we’ve given out grants up to 10 million euros to support initiatives and projects across Finland that promote social inclusion among kids and youth, but in 2019 we decided to take a risk and try something audacious - creating games and platforms that combine the physical and digital while generating tangible social impact."

Project scope

BRIEF_ Our mission was to help bring the foundatation to life through the creation of a playful, adaptable and modular brand identity. Wondershop merges the humanity of a foundation with the magic of a game studio, living somewhere between the digital and physical worlds. We were tasked with developing a new identity, designing a logo, a number of applications, and 3D illustrations.

SOLUTION_ The project was built on the idea of pixels coming to life. Three playful cubes, each representing one of RGB colours, were created as literal building blocks of the design. Those cubes were utilized to create vector brushes, which allowed for the development of more complex shapes and paths. Such elements would later be combined with the photos of children, thus combining the digital and physical worlds into a playful and highly adaptable design.

APPLICATION_ The cubes can be found in every single application. Forming colourful torrent of red, green & blue, they interact with kids, game characters and even form their own entities. The idea was to keep the cubes in motion, in order to make them even more extraordinary and eye-catching. The result is and ownable and playful visual identity allowing for maximum creative flexibility.
