Core Labs and Research Infrastructure

KAUST Core Labs and Research Infrastructure is a system of multidisciplinary, interconnected laboratories located on the University’s campus. Its mandate is to promote the scientific ambitions of KAUST and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by stewarding and developing state-of-the-art facilities and technical expertise.

The labs, although technically a part of KAUST, operates as a separate entity and the client’s intention was to emphasize this visually. The ambition is to promote Core Labs as a modern research facility, toe-to-toe with such institutes as JPL or CERN.

Our task was to design an identity, that would be simple yet versatile with a professional look to it. After extensive research and numerous sessions with KAUST stakeholders, we developed the key visual, brand elements, and photography direction.
